Meet Andrea Girolamo | MetzWood Insurance Staff Spotlight

We're excited to shine the spotlight on one of our dedicated team members, Andrea Girolamo! Andrea is a valuable asset to MetzWood, bringing a wealth of experience and a passion for helping our clients. Get to know better and discover what makes her a key member of our team!

What drew you to work for MetzWood Insurance initially?
Our family's home, auto, umbrella, and life policies were with MetzWood!

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone shopping for different insurance policies?
It may seem empowering to be able to buy insurance directly through a website, but being able to call a real person directly instead of an insurance company's 800 number really makes a difference when you have a claim to file or have a simple question. We see the difference that makes every day.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Mongolia, the coldest capital city in the world. Yurt living in the countryside, Bactrian camels in the Gobi Desert, remnants of the Silk Road, modern-day nomads—it has to be one of the most interesting countries on Earth!

Tell us something you’re passionate about.
I'm passionate about the outdoors and, in particular, getting kids out into nature. The more time they spend outside early in life, the more they appreciate that fragile ecosystems need our responsible stewardship for the benefit of future generations of hikers, skiers, runners, hunters, fishermen, and outdoor enthusiasts of every stripe. It's my goal to visit all 180 New York State parks someday!

What causes or charities are important to you?
I support the Columbia Land Conservancy in its mission to keep Columbia County green, beautiful, and accessible to all. Additionally, the Olana Partnership works to maintain the Olana State Historic Site, a beautiful homestead of the Hudson River School landscape painter Frederic Church that is accessible to the public.

What do you like most about the area you live?
I've lived in Hudson for over a decade and have always loved that I can go from my house to farms, hills, and mountains in the blink of an eye. We really have the best of everything here.

What's something surprising your clients might not know about you?
Before I joined the MetzWood team, I was a professional writer for 15 years before hanging up the pen and pursuing insurance. Now I'm working on a novel in my spare time!

Andrea's hard work, her love for the outdoors, and her commitment to her community make her an outstanding member of the MetzWood team. We're fortunate to have her as part of our family and look forward to continuing to learn from her and benefit from her expertise.
