Personal Lines Service Assistant

The Personal Lines Service Assistant is essential to providing the timely and personal service that MetzWood Insurance is known for. We are looking for a positive team-player to join our Personal Insurance Department as a Service Assistant. This role supports our insurance advisors with the day-to-day tasks that help create a positive experience for our clients.

This full-time position will be primarily based in Chatham or Hudson, Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM.

  • Fulfill client service requests, which can include tasks like processing endorsements, cancellations, or binder requests
  • Assist with quotes for new clients and renewal policies
  • Generate, format, and review new business and renewal proposals
  • Provide administrative support to department members and efficiently accomplish additional tasks as necessary to support the success of the team
  • Follow all necessary agency procedures and maintain high underwriting standards to best serve our clients
  • Work collaboratively as a part of a team to fulfill the needs of our clients


  • Experience effectively communicating with clients over phone, email, or in-person
  • Ability to learn quickly, from understanding agency processes and procedures to adeptly utilizing our Agency Management Software system (Applied Epic)
  • Eagerness to work in a team environment
  • Superior multi-tasking and problem-solving skills, while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience working in the Insurance industry is a bonus, but not required
