We’re excited to spotlight Amanda Griffin, Licensed Advisor and valued member of the MetzWood Insurance team, whose passion for community, helping others, and lifelong learning shines through in everything she does.
What drew you to work for MetzWood Insurance initially?
I liked that MetzWood is very involved with the local community and giving back. Community is very important.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone shopping for different insurance policies?
I would advise that you ask questions. No questions are silly. The more knowledge you have regarding your coverages and policies, the better off you will be.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
Scotland. My husband and I have talked about exploring there for years. It is definitely number one on our bucket list.
Tell us something you’re passionate about.
I love to garden and take care of my houseplants. My grandmother had the same passions, and it was definitely passed down to me. My favorite time is a Sunday morning with coffee, walking around looking at my plants and new things growing outside.
What causes or charities are important to you?
Animal rescues and fostering are very important to me. I have two rescue animals myself, one was a foster fail. I love the opportunity to help people find their new family member and give them a safe place to stay until then.
What do you like most about the area you live?
I love how close we are to major areas but still rural enough to have quiet, nature, and space.
What's something surprising your clients might not know about you?
Prior to working in insurance, I went to school for nursing. I worked as a nurse in hospice for several years.
From her love of gardening to her dedication to animal rescues, Amanda brings the same care and compassion to her clients as she does to her community, and we’re lucky to have her on the MetzWood team.
