At MetzWood, our people are the heart of what we do, and Licensed Advisor Amanda Briscoe is a perfect example of what our team brings to the table. Amanda goes above and beyond to ensure clients receive personalized, thoughtful insurance guidance. Outside the office, she’s a hands-on community volunteer, an avid gardener, and a talented home cook with a passion for heritage and family traditions. Get to know Amanda in her own words in this month’s Staff Spotlight.
What drew you to work for MetzWood Insurance initially?
I was looking for an employer who was more family oriented and flexible with a good work/personal life balance.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone shopping for different insurance policies?
Working with an agency is so beneficial. We do ALL the work for the client to determine what the overall best option is.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?
There are so many places I would love to visit! I am really into our family's heritage and recently learned that I am primarily French- who knew?! I would love to visit to learn more about the culture. Ireland and Scotland are also high on the list for me!
Tell us something you’re passionate about.
I have a good amount of hobbies, but I do love being outside in the garden! It's an easy activity for the whole family to be involved in and there is something that is just so satisfying about growing your own food! I also love to crochet. I learned how to do it from my great grandmother when I was very young, so it holds a special place in my heart as well.
What causes or charities are important to you?
My husband and I are very involved with youth sports locally. Currently, I am on the board for the Hudson Little League as their player agent. I think it is so important for kids to be active and socialize through sports. Our program for the Little League has grown exponentially over the last several years, where we are offering both baseball and softball teams for all ages.
What do you like most about the area you live?
I really love that it's never a far drive to all types of different things to do- wineries, hiking, shopping, etc. We also have amazing views of the Catskills- that view never gets old to me!
What's something surprising your clients might not know about you?
My homemade pierogies and sourdough bread are pretty famous. I also love to make homemade pastas.
From helping clients navigate insurance choices to growing vegetables in her backyard or cheering on local athletes, Amanda brings care, enthusiasm, and community spirit to everything she does. We're proud to have her as part of the MetzWood family, and lucky to work alongside someone so committed to both her craft and her community.
